What an honor it is to lead the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative as Interim President and CEO. I learned the value of healthcare coalitions as the Vice President of Human Resources for a multi-state company in Knoxville, Tennessee. The local coalition, Healthcare 21, coached and guided me through the process of providing cost effective, quality, and innovative healthcare benefits. Later, as leader of Kentucky’s largest self-funded plan for state employees, teachers, and early retirees, I recognized the benefit of KHC’s purchaser-led, multi-stakeholder coalition.
As a member, board member, and then consultant with KHC, I’ve experienced firsthand the value the organization provides the Kentuckiana community by working closely with healthcare purchasers, providers, hospitals, plans, non-profits, and others. It is truly amazing what this team of three, supported by one or two part-time staff members, has accomplished over the years. The KHC is nationally recognized as a thought-leader in many areas, including measurement, opioid response efforts, hospital price transparency, healthcare equity, and COVID member discussions.
I grew up in Owensboro and have lived in western Kentucky, Louisville, and Frankfort before and after my Air Force career. I’m committed to KHC’s goal of building a bridge to better health, better care, and better value, And I know we can accomplish more together than alone. I look forward to working with all our members and especially our board – you are what makes the KHC successful as you work to deliver affordable, quality, and equitable healthcare in our communities.
