Kentuckiana Health Collaborative President and CEO Announces Departure

Filed Under: KHC News October 12, 2021, Stephanie Clouser

Kentuckiana Health Collaborative president and CEO Randa Deaton announced her resignation after 18 months as the organization’s inaugural President and CEO.

Randa has served the KHC for 17 years as the Corporate Director of the UAW/Ford Community Healthcare Initiative (CHI) and most recently as President and CEO since spring 2020, when the non-profit achieved independence after being convened by CHI since 2003.

As president and CEO, Randa’s vision and guidance led to the development of KHC’s first purchaser priority set as part of the Kentucky Core Healthcare Measures Set, the launch of the Kentucky Transformational Employment Program with several key state partners, completion of a pilot program on how purchasers address social determinants of health, meaningful and impactful member discussions to catalyze healthcare equity and other key strategic priorities, and dozens of “Coffee and COVID” discussions on the latest information on the pandemic. She also achieved several financial milestones critical to the long-term success of the KHC.

Randa will join the Purchaser Business Group on Health as the Vice President of Purchaser Engagement, where she will lead efforts to engage and bring solutions to the organization’s members.

“It has been an honor and privilege to help build the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together in Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Kentuckiana will continue to be my home, and the work of the KHC matters to me and my family,” Randa said. “I am excited to transition my passion for improving healthcare quality, cost, and equity for private and public purchasers from a regional to a national level, and I look forward to finding synergies for partnership with the KHC in my new role.”

Randa’s last day with the KHC will be November 5. Jenny Goins, KHC Director of Membership and Development and former KHC board member, has been named interim president and CEO.

“I am honored and excited about this opportunity to lead the KHC. As a former board member and most recently as director of membership and development, I’ve seen firsthand what this small team has accomplished to make a difference in healthcare for Kentucky and Southern Indiana. KHC’s collaborative nature, bringing together employers, plans, providers, and other non-profit organizations, is key to its success. My goal is to continue to build on this collaboration and to bring more employers to the table for the benefit of improving healthcare cost, quality, and value,” she said.
