Using Measurement and Public Reporting to Drive Improvement in Cost, Quality and Patient Experience.

Join the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative on December 9th for the unveiling of the HealthShare website which will publicly display the first quality data on primary care and women’s health practices in Kentuckiana.  The HealthShare website has been built on nearly a decade of collaboration by many dedicated healthcare experts and clinicians who represent over 40 local organizations.   These organizations are often competitors which come together as partners to solve complex health problems in our community and should be commended for working collaboratively as we take the first step in making healthcare information more transparent to the community at large.

Hear from Jim Chase, President of Minnesota Community Measurement, a non-profit, multi-stakeholder collaboration that is using measurement and public reporting to drive improvement in the cost, quality and patient experience of care.  Minnesota Community Measurement has reported on health care quality for over 10 years and now publicly reports 74 measures, using data from over 366 medical groups across the state and 9 health plans.  Jim will share information on:

  • The consensus process for measure development and approval
  • The types of measures including primary and specialty care quality, patient experience, and cost of care
  • The different sources of data including administrative, medical records, and patient reported outcomes
  • How the measures are being used for patients, providers, and health plans
  • The improvement in results over time
