My entire career has been in case management and population health.

I began working with Child and Adult Protective Services in 2006 and quickly saw the need for improvements to our physical and behavioral health systems. Moving to Humana I began completing In Home Assessments with members in Kentucky and Indiana and learned more about the gaps in our system for Medicare recipients related to access to care, healthcare costs, and social determinants of health. After 10 years with Medicare I moved to support Humana’s Medicaid membership and gained even more insight into the needs of our members across the KHC service area. I am a lifelong Kentuckian and have a passion for working to improve the health experience for patients and providers, making things easier, and connecting them to the resources they need to provide and receive care.

What are you currently working on that you are most excited about? How do you think it will drive improvements to health and healthcare in the community?
Most recently I worked with our amazing team at Humana Healthy Horizons in Kentucky to support the physical health and social determinants of health needs of citizens across the Commonwealth. It has been great to implement programs that not only help Humana members but every citizen, family, and community across the state.

Why do you think a multi-stakeholder coalition like the KHC is needed in the community?

I’ve only been a part of KHC for a few months but the value they bring to the KHC service area was apparent from day 1. KHC, under the leadership of Jenny, brings partners together from all parts of the profit and non-profit world to collaborate and align on a single goal. Without the KHC the synergies of bringing these organizations together would be lost. The first thing that jumped out to me is that everyone is truly committed to improving healthcare across the service area. Everyone comes to our meetings to problem solve with curiosity and empathy. It is very encouraging and inspiring.

Any city I’ve never been to, but my favorites are Washington, DC, San Francisco, and Lake Tahoe.
