2022 saw the KHC and many other organizations starting to return to normal – or what may be the new normal living with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to return to normal, the KHC hosted its annual conference in person for the first time in two years, experimented with hybrid member meetings and community forums, and tapered off the Coffee and COVID events.

One highlight from 2022 was the convening of the KHC Board of Directors for a strategic planning session in September. It was not only exciting to see people in person for an extended period, but to learn from each of the Board members as they shared their various stakeholder views of the healthcare system. This type of conversation is exactly why the KHC was formed by UAW/Ford Motor Company 20 years ago. The Board coalesced around an updated mission statement and new vision and value statements.

Take a moment to review the 2022 Annual Report and see the many activities related to education and advocacy the KHC accomplished with the assistance of our board, member organizations, and community partners. Highlights include:

  • Updated Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Launched The Principles of Advancing Healthcare Equity
  • Continued the Healthcare Learning Series and Anti-Racism Training for Members
  • Partnered with the National Quality Forum, CMS, and America’s Health Insurance Plans and participated in a Health Equity Workgroup
  • Launched a Diabetes Learning Collaborative
  • Hosted events promoting transparency
  • Hosted Community Health Forums
  • Recruited 10 new members

Whether you are new to the KHC or have worked alongside us for years, we hope you will join us as we continue, through our collaborative partnerships, to build healthier communities through high quality, affordable, and equitable healthcare across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Entering 2023, the KHC has much to look to forward to. Read the full KHC 2022 Annual Report here.
