KHC Outgoing President and CEO Randa Deaton

Serving as the KHC’s first President and CEO has been an absolute honor and privilege over the last 18 months. I am so proud of what the KHC staff, board, and members have accomplished together during the COVID-19 pandemic, including an organizational, board, and governance restructure and the development of robust financial procedures, growth, and stability. On the program side, the KHC led the development of its first purchaser priority set as part of the third Kentucky Core Healthcare Measures Set, launched the Kentucky Transformational Employment Program with several key state partners, completed a pilot program on how purchasers address social determinants of health, led meaningful and impactful discussions around healthcare equity and other key strategic priorities of members, and facilitated dozens of Coffee and COVID discussions on the latest information on the pandemic.

After many amazing years with the KHC, I have decided to expand my passion for this work to the national level. I have accepted the role of Vice President of Purchaser Engagement for the Purchaser Business Group on Health, formerly known as the Pacific Business Group on Health. You can read the press release here. I am excited to continue the work with the KHC in my new role and feel confident we will find synergies for continuing to drive improved quality, cost, and equity together through education, collaboration, and solutions.

Kentuckiana will continue to be my home, and the work of the KHC matters to me and my family.

I thank the KHC and community for the energy, passion, work, and support over the years. I’m excited about the next chapter for the KHC and have full confidence that the organization will continue to make meaningful impact on the health and healthcare of Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
