Kentuckiana Health Collaborative (KHC) hosted its 1st Healthcare Conference on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at The Olmsted in Louisville, Kentucky.  The Conference was well attended; a very successful day for learning and networking. The topic of the conference was “The New Healthcare: Successes, Transformation, & Paths Forward.”

Well-known local, national, and international speakers included:
• Paul Grundy, MD, Global Director of Healthcare Transformation, IBM
• Carrie Colla, PhD, The Dartmouth Institute
• Sarojini Kanotra, PhD, Chronic Disease Prevention Branch, Kentucky Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance, KY Department Public Health
• Suzanne Delbanco, PhD, Executive Director, Catalyst for Payment Reform
• Roni Christopher, MEd, Executive Director, Healthcare Transformation, HealthSpan Solutions
• Fred Bloom, MD, President, Guthrie Medical Group

In addition to the exceptional speakers, two panel discussions consisting of local hospital and health plan leadership brought the national conversations to a local level. You do not always see competitors sitting at the same table and freely sharing their plans for how they would like to see some of the healthcare challenges addressed in the community. Bringing multiple stakeholders together is one of the key advantages of the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative’s approach for improving healthcare delivery in the community. Both panels were moderated by Diana Han, MD, Medical Director, General Electric. Panelists included:
• Steve Houghland, MD, Chief Medical Director, Passport Health Plan
• Chip Howard, III, Market VP of Provider Development, Humana
• Michael Lorch, VP Healthcare Management, Anthem
• Louise Short, MD, Total Health Management Practice Leader, Mercer
• Damian “Pat” Alagia III, MD, Chief Physician Executive, KentuckyOne Health
• Joshua T. Honaker, MD, FAAP, System Vice President, Norton Healthcare
• Isaac Myers, II, MD, Chief Health Integration Officer & President, Baptist Health Medical Group
