Advancing Food Allergy Management and Treatment

Food allergies are on the rise in the United States, with 1 in 10 adults and 1 in 13 children having at least one food allergy. Living with food allergies can significantly affect a person’s quality of life, including more frequent healthcare utilization and high financial burden due to out-of-pocket healthcare costs. This strain also affects the healthcare system through increased use of resources, including emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and medications. Management and treatment of food allergies can help reduce both personal and systemic impacts, leading to better health outcomes, improved quality of life, and more appropriate healthcare utilization.

This webinar explored the prevalence of food allergies, their impact on individuals and the healthcare system, and how to support access and affordability of treatment and management approaches.
