Louisville Business First’s annual Health Care Heroes program features professionals who go above and beyond to care for the Louisville community. Each year, 25 individuals across six categories are honored for their impact on health care in our community through their concern for patients, research, innovation, management skills and rising stars in the field. Louisville Business First readers submitted nominations for the awards. Nominations were judged by Louisville Business First editors and publisher Lisa Benson.

Natalie Middaugh, President and CEO of the Kentuckiana Health Collaborative was honored as a Health Care Hero in the “Rising Star” category.

The 2025 Health Care Heroes were featured in the February 28-March 6 edition of Louisville Business First and were honored at an in-person event at the Olmsted on Thursday, Feb. 27.
