KHC has partnered with the University of Louisville’s Commonwealth Institute of Kentucky to release a new issue brief, “Improving the Health of Kentuckians: The Value of an All-Payer Claims Database.” The brief explores the contributions that an All-Payer Claims Database (APCD) can make to advance population health in Kentucky and summarizes APCD-associated legislative actions at the federal and state levels. An APCD is an important component of healthcare price transparency and can support and accelerate efforts to contain healthcare costs, which represented 18.3% of the United States gross domestic product (GDP) in 2021. KHC has been actively working alongside other state-wide partners to advocate for an APCD in Kentucky and we are pleased to make this brief available. We hope the brief sparks interest and discussion about the value of an APCD in Kentucky.
