AbbVie

Job Title: Population Health Account Executive

Member of KHC for: 18 months

Provide a brief description of your job: Work with Health Systems to improve population health outcomes in patients with chronic diseases by identifying and closing gaps in care.

Share your personal interest in Health and Healthcare System Improvement.

Prior to joining AbbVie, I was a practicing nurse practitioner for over 10 years. That experience taught me that health and healthcare are inseparable: Individual health is impacted by the quality of the system in which is received. And vice versa: The quality of the system is enhanced when individuals achieve optimal outcomes.

What are you currently working on that you are most excited about? How do you think it will drive improvements to health and healthcare in the community?

I am working with a health system to build a chronic disease management dashboard. The short-term objectives are to define the population with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), identify high utilizers, design interventions to reduce cost, and risk-stratify the population. The long term goal is to build a center of excellent for IBD.

What are you most excited about working on in the future around health and healthcare improvement?

I am most excited about potential collaborations between employers, payers, and providers.

How can the KHC best coordinate and align action to change health and the healthcare system? Explain.

By bringing together professionals from so many players in the healthcare space. Encouraging networking and cooperation between members.

Why do you think a multi-stakeholder coalition like the KHC is needed in the community?

It is very easy to stay in our own worlds. The KHC brings stakeholders together to share ideas, best practices, insights, and find opportunity for collaboration that would otherwise be missed.

What is your favorite quote?

“If you’re going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill

What do you do in your spare time? Provide a fun fact about yourself.

I love music and REALLY miss going to concerts!
